FAQ

Here's the official Outpost v4 Frequently Asked Questions!

Q: Why the new design?
A: Martin was tired with the old design!

Q: Why DotNetNuke?
A: Ron wanted to give the rest of Outpost more flexability and control over the site. Outpost members can now upload their own music or novelty items,

Q: I had an account on Outpost v3.1. Do I have an account here?
A: Only if you are an Outpost member. (That includes you, Kevin!) Otherwise, you need to recreate your account. Don't worry, it's not scary, and we don't sell email addresses either. Heck, we don't even send out a newsletter.

Q: So what's new?
A: Very little, really. We are no longer doing interviews or compos, so you won't see them here. You can always access the old ones through the archive.

Q: Where is Outpost v1?
A: We never saved it. For those who remember it's old black, green, and purple design, it was quite the novelty, and didn't look all that great. If someone ever digs it up, though, let us know and we'll add it to the Archive!

Q: Where is Outpost v2?
A: We never saved that, either. However, the designs between Outpost v2 and v3 were so similar, and we were still buzzing along after the release of Voyage that we didn't delete our old stuff. You will find all of the content on Outpost v2 in the archive.

Q: Where is Outpost v3?
A: Technically, the archive *is* Outpost v3, with the exception that it was written in ASP.Net 2.0 instead of ASP.Net 1.1, and was given a very minor graphics overhaul by Martin. In short, you're not missing anything.

Q: Is Outpost Radio coming back?
A: Not at this time. The server is too flaky, and has been having problems with the network cards that requires me to repair the network connection every 10 minutes. If I can ever fix that, I'll consider bringing Outpost Radio back.

Q: Why archive your old content? That stuff was good!
A: We wanted to give Outpost a new look and image, so we moved all the old stuff to the archive session. It will never go away, we don't want to lose the music that's there, like we did with Outpost v1.

Q: I found a bug. What should I do?
A: Report it by emailing it to me at roncli@roncli.com.

Q: Can you link to my site?
A: Certainly! Make sure you have a standard sized 88x31 button, either GIF or JPG, and email it and the desired URL to roncli@roncli.com. Once we approve it, we'll add it to the Links page.

Q: Can I link to your site?
A: Certainly! Check out our banner and button on the Links page.
